Subj: Meeting at MidWest
On Wednesday morning, Dec. 17th, at 7:00am, there will a breakfast meeting held for all SInC members as well as members of the ASTA board. The meeting will be held at the Astoria Room of the Hilton Hotel. I realize that many from our distinguished list of members may not be able to attend, and I'll miss meeting you in person. However, I would still hope to present, at least, any message, concern, or suggestion made in absentia.
Therefore, please fax or mail whatever you wish to have brought up in our discussion. The value of the meeting will come from the exchange of members' ideas and experiences, which will lead to goal setting. I am inviting each of you to participate at the conscious level, to speak out with true candor, albeit professionally enhanced, so that we may boast of real progress by the end of the meeting.
To inspire our young people and their families, and increase public awareness of string instrument performance - these are my personal agenda items. At the same time, I hope to deal with the issues of responsible yet profitable business practices so that SInC comes to mean Trust and Quality to everyone in the music industry.
Please take a little time to communicate with me prior to the meeting. In order to allow enough time to organize the information, I would request that December 5th be the cut-off date for agenda items. Anything recommended after that will certainly be brought up, but I won't be guaranteeing the agenda exposure.
Note: due to the limited time for open discussion, it is preferable that members who WILL attend the meeting still submit written messages to me. ASTA board members are invited to join in this process as well.
Looking forward to seeing you,
Charles Avsharian,
President, String Industry Council
