Re-graduation- A practice of rethinning the wood from the top, back, or ribs which is unethical and irreversible. The process destroys the "essential original parts" for only a temporary improvement in tone. Some dealers disguise this instrument abuse as "Acoustical Refinement", or "Acoustical Tone Improvements".
