TERMS AND CONDITIONS |
|
Ownership: |
During the rental
period, the Instrument Outfit remains the property of Fritz Reuter &
Sons, Inc.* |
| Rental
Period: |
Instrument Outfits
may be rented for a minimum period of three months. No rebates will be
given on Instrument Outfits returned
before the rental period is completed. The rental period begins on the
date indicated on the invoice,
and ends three (3)
calendar months thereafter. |
|
Payments: |
Rentals are billed
in three-month increments. The first payment is due upon receipt of the
Rental Outfit. This initial payment may either
be made by cash, check, or money order - or it may be charged to a major
credit card (Visa, Master Card,
American Express, Discover Card). Subsequent payments are due at the
beginning of each rental period. |
| |
Unless in receipt
of advance notice to the contrary, Fritz Reuter & Sons, Inc. assumes
that the customer intends to continue renting.
As part of the rental agreement, Reuter & Sons therefore reserves the
right to charge the full threemonth fee to the
customer's major credit card if the Instrument Outfit has not been
returned, or payment received, within ten (10)
days following contract expiration. |
| |
There is a $20.00
fee for any check or charge being returned to us or denied for any
reason. |
| Repair
Service: |
Except for repairs
necessitated by willful damage and/or careless handling, Fritz Reuter &
Sons, Inc., will provide - at no charge - all
essential adjustments, repairs and the replacement of broken strings.
Those repairs for which the customer is liable
will, however, be billed at special reduced rates. |
|
Insurance: |
If lost due to fire
or theft, the Rental Outfit will be replaced by Fritz Reuter & Sons at
no cost to the rental customer. |
|
Conversion: |
At any time during
the rental period, the Instrument Outfit can be upgraded to a larger
size or exchanged for a different type of
stringed instrument. If the total rental fee attending this change
should be lower or higher than previously
contracted, the new fee will be reflected in the invoice for the next
billing period. |
Past
Due
Accounts: |
A late charge of
$10.00 per month will be charged on all accounts that are thirty days or
more past due. On any account ninety (90)
or more days past due, the customer is automatically liable for the
TOTAL rental balance and TOTAL retail cost
of the Rental Outfit. In addition, the customer is also liable for all
reasonable legal fees and costs incurred in
collecting the rental balance and retail cost, as well as for the cost
of repairing any damage to the Instrument Outfit. |
|
RENTAL CREDIT ACCOUNT |
The remarkable and
unique feature of our rental program is the special way it functions. It
is much like a savings account. The rental fees you pay
are not "lost money." Rather, to a significant limit, they accumulate as
rental credits - which means that they are actually an
investment, which may be used, in the outright purchase of a stringed
instrument outfit.
Here is how it
works. Except for the first three months' payment, the full rental fee
is posted to your rental credit account. Your "savings" are
accumulating, and therefore appear on your quarterly invoice as a
steady-growing rental credit. The longer your rental history, the larger
the credit you have earned.
And as much as the
full, 100% rental credit can be applied to your purchase of any stringed
instrument outfit in our shop - up to 50% of the retail
price. Thus, for example, a $1,000 rental credit may be applied in full
to the purchase of a $2,000 instrument. Or $750 of the same credit may be
applied against the purchase of a $1,500 instrument - with the $250
credit balance remaining in your control should you wish to make
another purchase in the future.
Certain limitations
do apply, however. Whether you purchase, or simply return your rental
outfit to Reuter & Sons, the rental credit - all of it,
if you make no purchase at the moment; the balance, if an elected
purchase uses only part of your account's funds - remains at your
disposal for up to five full years after you have stopped renting.
Without boasting,
we would like to point out that this is an eminently fair policy and -
as we have said - a policy unique to our shop. IT MAKES
FRITZ REUTER & SONS A DECIDEDLY ATTRACTIVE PLACE TO DO BUSINESS!
Moreover, we warrant that NO third party will
receive a kick-back, bribe, commission, finder's fee, or any
remuneration vis-a-vis fees or on the subsequent purchase price of merchandise or
repair services.
